ALBUM: Pricy – No Game, No Glory (Prod by TOPE)

Portland rapper Pricy has been a local rap legend for over a decade, only popping up on select guest appearances, burning verses to the ground, and disappearing again until called upon. That was until now – Pricy has finally put together his debut album titled “No Game, No Glory” produced entirely by another Portland legend, TOPE and all we can say is it was worth the wait. Drawing inspiration from some of Rap’s most legendary writers and story-tellers including Too Short, Ice-T, Slick Rick, and more – Pricy attacks every track with nothing but originality, providing listeners with clever wordplay, unique metaphors, and a story to every song on this album. “No Game, No Glory” takes listeners on a ride from start to finish allowing insight into who Pricy is as an artist and a person as he opens up on songs like “Pretty Tony” addressing the passing of his father Anthony Jackson, meanwhile painting vivid scenes of his life on “Street Lights” and “Talk Nice.” Pricy even takes time to show respect to Portland landmarks including “Council Crest” and “KBOO” (co-produced by Zach Striar). Recorded entirely in Oakland, CA “No Game, No Glory” gives us the feel of a West Coast classic album with only one listen, including theatrical skits and top-notch production from beginning to end. On “Funny Words” Pricy pens a cautionary tale of falling in love before being able to trust your partner and where the downfalls of lust can take you. With a sound that is truly bigger than one city or region, Pricy still takes time to show love to his hometown, Portland – especially in the Official Music Video for “Street Lights” filmed in Downtown Portland.

Not only known as a rapper, but Pricy is truly an artist, dabbling in Videography and Photography and also announced the release of his new clothing brand Castle Ill with the release of his project “No Game, No Glory.” Available now on his website Castleill.com, Pricy is looking to make Castle Ill a new hub for not only his music and clothing but where other artists and photographers can submit their work to be featured as well.
