Michael Charles has released a certified banger with his latest effort “Aaliyah.” The Houston native who is now based in Los Angeles linked with Grammy nominated producer Illuid Haller via Instagram and the rest is history! The two collaborated on his entire “Beginners Luck” project released earlier this year and has amassed over 30k streams on streaming giant Spotify since its release. “I wanted to challenge myself as an artist and do something that would get me outside of my comfort zone. I first heard the beat and it instantly gave me an old school Aaliyah & Timbaland vibe,” as Michael expressed the inspiration behind the track.
It’s a melodic and silky smooth song that also features additional vocals from UK songstress Courtney Bennett. Michael pays homage with multiple references to song titles from the late great singer Aaliyah Haughton who tragically passed away in 2001. “She was a big inspiration to many including myself. Her spirit was so pure and her music was just a vibe,” says Michael. “Aaliyah” is truly a testament to his growth as an artist. Stay tuned for more to come from this promising upcoming star in 2021—Michael Charles has much to offer the rap game.
