UNSIGNED HYPE: Maya Nichole – Miles Away
The vulnerable position Maya Nichole’s music places her is actually to the singer/songwriter’s advantage as she naturally explores those feelings we’re all trying to hide from. Her debut single “Miles Away” is a testament to this experience with the singer/songwriter laying it all on the track.
“Miles Away” was written about a past lover, but is a record so many can relate to. Maya Nichole reveals how she felt dealing with someone who was so distant physically and emotionally. “Love is a tragedy, Oh silly me, Just waiting here so patiently,” she expresses and continues with “won’t you come back to me”. Her lyrics are paired perfectly with the heavy guitar strokes found throughout the song with finely tuned acoustic production by Anthony “Static” Taibi.
